2020 Fall Season is CANCELLED.
Dear West Marin Youth Soccer League Community,
It is with much sadness and regret that we are hereby announcing the cancellation of the 2020 West Marin Youth Soccer League season.
We opened registration this year knowing that there was a strong possibility that a season would not come to fruition. We planned with optimism and worked to spread the word about free soccer registration this year (hundreds of kids signed up). This was all done based on the hope that conditions would improve by August, our fields would be open and that kids would be back in school.
Recent announcements by State Health Organizations, our partner school districts and a clear lack of workable playing guidelines has drawn us to the conclusion that a Fall soccer season is not viable or safe at this time. As a community, anything we can do to help our children return safely and expediently back to an in-school learning environment has to be our first priority. Our hope is that winter or spring sports may have a more clear path to returning to play. Hopefully by next Fall, we will all be back out on the field together playing soccer again.
We want to sincerely thank you all for your support. We know this news hits you and your kids especially hard as well. If you are interested in training with our affiliate club soccer program, Ross Valley Breakers. Please visit their website for information at Ross Valley Breakers and contact [email protected]. There are current openings in existing pods that are following local Covid-19 guidelines.
Please stay healthy and be safe during these trying times.
